Window Profiles

The profile (or PVC-U frame) of the window is supplied by Spectus Systems (click here to link to the Spectus Systems website). PVC-U is available in standard white, light oak or mahogany, as shown below.

A number of window systems are available including the Classic 62, Sightline 70, Vertical Slider, Fully Reversible and Patio Door systems, as well as a number of new build options.

The profile meets all the major industry standards including:
BS2782 Part 5 for the PVC-U
BS7412 and BS7413 and the relevant British Board of Agrement assessment for the window system.
BS476 Part 7 Class 1 for the surface spread of flame.
Windows can be manufactured to BS7950.

2 Construction

Dorwin windows are constructed to a high standard and are guaranteed for 10 years. Dorwin holds a BS7412 certificate to verify that manufactured windows meet the BS Kitemark Standard. Dorwin holds a BS7950 certificate, enabling us to manufacturer to secure by design standards. Dorwin also complies with British Board of Agrement standards for production for the construction industry and operates to BS.EN. ISO9001:2000 standards. The windows are reinforced with mild steel of grade ZZ G275N complying with BS2989.

All DORWIN window units are double-glazed with hermetically sealed flat double glazed units to comply with BS5713 (1979). The glass is of the minimum thickness to meet the wind loading requirements of BS6262 (1982) and glass is in accordance with BS952 Part 1 (1978). All door glass is toughened safety glass to BS6206. All sealed units are guaranteed against breakdown for a minimum of 5 years.

The window units comply to all the major industry standards including:
BS6375 clause 5 (1983) for air permeability when tested in accordance with BS5368 Part 1.
BS6375 clause 5 (1983) for water tightness when tested in accordance with BS5368, Part 2 using spray method No 2.
BS6375 clause 7part 1 (1983) for wind loading when tested in accordance with BS5368, Part 3.
BS5713 (1979) for sealed units
BS6262 (1982) for wind loading of the glass
Glass in accordance with BS952 part 1 (1978)
Toughened glass in accordance with BS6202.


4 INSTALLATION

Our installation is simple and hassle free, We provide dust covers and sheets to protect your existing fittings and furniture during the removal of existing windows and we install new windows immediately.

DORWIN guarantee the fabricated unit and installation for a period of ten years from the completion date of any works carried out.
